The American Youth Soccer Organization is a volunteer, non-profit program dedicated to providing children with a positive sports experience in a fun, safe, and fair environment. Volunteer Coaches and referees are offered training clinics to assist in developing your child’s knowledge of soccer and sportsmanship.

Please consider volunteering as a coach when you register your child. Volunteers allow us to run this program successfully for all of the players.

CORE MONROE AYSO PROGRAM

Our core program is the foundation for all the fun, excitement and learning that happens on the fields. AYSO is best known for our core program – it’s where the large majority of kids fall in love with soccer and make memories that will last a lifetime.

There are six core values – or what we call AYSO’s Six Philosophies – that are the foundation of our core program, and all others: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development. These are the essence of AYSO and it all starts with Everyone Plays.

Here in AYSO, Everyone Plays means that no kid spends their soccer experience sitting on the bench. Every kid plays at least half of every game. Learn more about AYSO’s Six Philosophies here.

Also, teams are put together in a way that makes playing soccer about the experience, not wins or losses. It’s not about blowing out another team with an unbelievable score; it’s about sportsmanship and learning to be the best possible team mate and opponent. Developing players is what we’re about, because soccer skills and life skills go hand in hand. AYSO’s main purpose is to get kids on the field, provide them with good coaches, and teach them to play soccer.

Monroe AYSO runs in the Fall and Spring, comprised of approximately 10 weeks of practice and games in each season. From time to time, we will offer training clinics as supplemental programs.

Uniforms can only be ordered online at https://spofct.tuosystems.com/stores/monroerec

AYSO PROGRAMS AND DIVISIONS

Playground Program

Monroe AYSO Cubs Program (Playground Program)
The Monroe AYSO Cubs Soccer program introduces 3 and 4 year olds to soccer in a fun, pressure-free environment.  Monroe AYSO Cubs Soccer uses group activities, soccer themes, and parent participation to develop the fundamental motor skills that prepare kids for all sports.  Players participate on a weekly basis with their parent (or other adult) working with them on the field. The program uses soccer as the "teaching thread" to develop fundamental motor skills such as balance, running, jumping and throwing for three and four year olds.  This is the foundation of sports success and an active lifestyle. Let your little one learn the beautiful game the right way!
Parent Participation is REQUIRED!  AYSO coaches lead sessions that create a fun, parent participatory atmosphere utilizing age appropriate activities.

U5
Players meet Saturday mornings for 1 hour and are provided with approximately 30 minutes of fun, instructional drills followed by a 25-30 minute game.

U6 through U12
Players have practice one evening during the week for approximately 70 minutes and one game on Saturday morning. At these levels, the games are small sided with players on the field dependent on age group.

U14-HS
Players have practice one evening during the week for approximately 70 minutes and one game on Saturday morning. Field play for all games is 11 v 11. Travel to other towns is expected.
